Stylo: Daniel Chong, Scott Chu, Jonathan Cheng, Karl Ng and Alvin Tay
The third day of Stylo Fashion Festival yesterday saw the Stylo Designer Grand Prix take place. 12 hours of fashion shows ran back to back from 10:30 am and I caught some shows in the afternoon featuring the works of Daniel Chong, Scott Chu, Jonathan Cheng, Karl Ng and Alvin Tay.
Daniel Chong

Daniel Chong featured very strong shapes with a touch of avant garde (as is his style) in contrasting textures like heavy silk, gauze, chiffon, delicate fringe, and what looked like plastic cutouts.

This is my favourite dress from his collection yesterday because of the design at the back - chiffon flowing down and floating elegantly behind without being overbearing. See more of Daniel Chong's pieces here.
Scott Chu

Intoxi-Kate by Scott Chu focused on architectural folds and pleats in cold shades of grey, black and cream.

If you notice, the sleeves on the top (in pic above) actually consist of two layers. See more of Scott Chu's works here.
Karl Ng
Compared to Daniel Chong and Scott Chu's mostly monotone palette, Karl Ng's collection burst with juicy colours on the runway. Malaysian model Jay struts down donning an interesting headpiece and a rather bulky kaftan top...

Which she flung out to reveal it's versatility as a long dress. She almost tripped on it but did a rather good save while maintaining a positive expression.

Jonathan Cheng

Jonathan Cheng returns with his trademark of dramatic drapes in heavy silk. Predominantly clad in black, the models walked as if on a mission as Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People boomed loudly.

Alvin Tay

Decadent and unapologetically loud, Alvin Tay's couture either hugged or emphasized parts of the female form.

Do check back on TiC as we'll be uploading better runway shots into our gallery very soon!
