Chic Shop: MNEP / The Burrow
MNEP aka The Burrow opened its doors last month in one of the most bustling student populated spots in the Klang Valley. In my opinion, it's one boutique I've seen in a long time that has the potential to be the next staple place to shop.

MNEP once customized shoes and caps in a Sunway Pyramid kiosk, but has most recently relocated to the shop lot right above the Starbucks opposite Taylors College. The shift enabled MNEP to expand their accessory range to clothes and apparel for both men and women, with a little cafe called The Burrow.
Owners Childson and Maggie are seriously taking the sky as their limit via this shift. Maggie even has plans to have a little hair styling area ala Replacement Boutique Salon, and the pair are also taking the opportunity to release their own line of MNEP designs.

Maggie and Childson are actually a couple, whose relationship completely reflects the store's equilibrium. It is one of the few local boutiques that equally caters to both men and women. Items that are brought in reflect the personal style and taste of Maggie and Childson (indie rock and skater punk respectively), and are completely different yet complementary.

Childson's domain brings in items from Supreme and Vans, and is looking into bringing in Commes de Garcon as well. Items are exclusively limited in KL, and range from RM200 to RM700.

Maggie's domain is whimsically indie, sourcing products from US and Bangkok. Because the girls' section is a little more trend-driven that the guys' brand-driven section, items are comparatively cheaper, ranging from RM20 to RM80.

The Burrow serves as a common area for shoppers to hang out. It's name re-iterates Maggie and Childson's hope to welcome customers into their private and personal space to stay and chill instead of merely shopping and leaving.

In the future, they plan on hosting gigs and music-driven events to establish MNEP as a lifestyle outlet instead of just another boutique, which I think will be the recipe for their (future) success.

What's more is that their store is a personal endeavour which will transcend to their customers. Like The Burrow's name is supposed to suggest, it's a private space that exhibits and respects Maggie and Childson's varied personal passions for everyone to see and enjoy.
So drop by, if not to shop then to lepak.
