Below are some of the shopping places we recommend:
The Platinum Fashion Mall is a huge hub for inimitable wholesale shopping. You can get items at very reasonable prices, provided you buy larger quantities (generally two items and up). It is filled with various stalls selling almost everything imaginable from eccentric garments, trendy accessories, and maternity clothing, to winter ensembles.

Though you would not find legal fashion brand names on offer, you can buy some decent items of clothing; and if you like to wear different items and mix and match frequently, then Platinum offers the means to stock up without spending a fortune.

Central World Shopping Complex
Central World, formerly known as World Trade Center, is the utmost lifestyle-shopping mall in Southeast Asia. It comprises over 500 shops and two trendy department stores (ZEN and Isetan). It has an unrivalled mix and range of products and services at down to earth rates that put the fun in shopping for locals and tourists alike. Also throughout the mall are wide walkways with lofty ceilings which are used to display chic art for fashion shows and exhibits.

Siam Center is one of the most vibrant malls in Thailand. Four floors of fun and fashion, the mall contains about 300 shops. Attractive jewelleries, speciality stores that feature hip clothing, shoes and hair accessories, can be found all throughout. With two radio stations and trendsetting Asian designer shops, Siam Center without a doubt attracts students nearby and fashion victims alike.

The gleaming and modern complex, Siam Paragon, is the destination for exclusive luxury shopping. It has more than 250 high end stores inside including Gucci, Burberry, Escada, Chanel and Marc Jacobs; just to name a few. It is a show case of the best products on the market, making it Bangkok’s premier shopping mall.

The 8-storey Mah Boon Krong, or MBK, is a popular shopping compound. It is not as modish and grandiose as neighbours Siam Center and Siam Paragon, but the tremendous choice of consumer goods at affordable prices makes it a sensible trip to be included on any visitor's shopping timetable.

No Bangkok shopping spree is complete without a visit to Chatuchak or Jatujak Market, a happening that occurs in Bangkok every Saturday and Sunday. To say that the market is massive is an understatement. There are 15,000 stalls on 35 acres of land, making it one of the biggest outdoor markets in the world.

From your favourite handicrafts to live animals, wholesale prices to retail, and raw materials to finished products; Chatuchak sells practically everything under the sun. Come to Chatuchak Market and chances are you won't go home empty-handed. Even the most discerning shopper will not leave disappointed.

My shopping tip: To get the best values, you will have to bargain, a process many initially find as a sign of economic haughtiness, or even a downright affront. Hence, always be courteous and consider each counteroffer you make carefully.
