Zouk Flea Market
By: Stephie of Fashionation
As a fashion writer, I am often asked where's the best shopping in Singapore. As a host showing my foreign friends around, I get lots of requests to bring them to the hippest place, where the goodlookers lurk. My answer always points to the same place, but like the Room of Requirement in Hogwarts, it is elusive and unpredictable.

People in the know won't need me to spell it out for them, because the answer is obviously Zouk's Flea 'n Easy. A flea market which is regularly organised, it happens every two months or so on the premises of Zouk on Jiak Kim Street. Don't be fooled by the calm exterior, it's no ordinary flea market. It is a marathon where only the fittest shoppers participate in, and only the fastest fingers will emerge victorious!

As a hard-core shopper, expect nothing but the best deals jam-packed into five hours. Marc Jacobs, Prada, Anne Demeulemeester, and Comme des Garçons; you'll find true blue fashionistas from Singapore selling their beloved wares away to make room for this season's new items.

Of course, it isn't all about labels. You'll see the weirdest items so out of this world, that your shopper's instinct will be on red hot alert! You'll also find vintage wares that can hardly be found in any shop elsewhere.

Being an accessories-obsessed shopper as I am, you have my word that the best jewelry, shoes and bags can be found, if your eyes are sharp enough! To score the best deals, being there early definitely helps as you'll be able to scout through the full range of items available.

While there isn't an "Everything Must Go" condition attached to the event, you'll find that by the last two hours, there's really nothing much left. However, the bar's always open since Zouk is a club by night, so drinks and people-watching is definitely in order as the cool cats chill out in the club. If you are a regular visitor to Singapore and want to catch the action, all you have to do is to register on Zouk's mailing list here, and they will keep you informed when a Zouk Flea n Easy is approaching. Trust me, this is something every shopper should experience in Singapore, at least once in their lives!
