Trend Talk Tuesdays: Light Denim
I have to admit, I’m a denim lover. There’s just something rustic and charming about denim. Dark denim is undoubtedly classy, perfect for evening wear, and acid-wash which seems to be all the rage now is great when you need a splash of eccentricity.
However, my one true love would have to be light denim – fun, casual, hippie and the perfect embodiment of summer. As luck would have it, light denim is back in trend with fashion of the 90s making a comeback.

Check out how these celebrities wear their light denim jeans! Rachel Zoe pairs her bellbottoms with a fitted blazer to add shape to her outfit, Lindsay Lohan goes ripped and torn, Rihanna opts for a more streamlined look and Mischa Barton uses her light coloured jeans as a simple base for a more complex and coloured top and accessories.

One of the more common criticism light denim faces, is how it’s particularly unforgiving on females with large thighs. If you’re one of the unlucky few (I know I am!) simply stay away from skinny or slim cuts. Go instead for baggy boyfriend style jeans, roll them up and cuff them, or pair them with a cute pair of heels for that shabby chic look!
