Christian Joy Presentation At On Pedder (HK)
If you've not heard of Christian Joy before, let me tell you that she's best known for her outer-galactic costumes for her BFF Karen O, lead singer of my favourite band, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! This Wednesday on 5th August, On Pedder is set to introduce and exhibit the works of the New York-based fashion designer at On Pedder Wheelock House.
Christian Joy and Karen O met when Joy worked as a shop girl for Daryl K, to which the future rock star was a regular. After a few cocktails, Joy began to design the outfits that would eventually define Karen O's onstage persona.
The presentation at On Pedder Wheelock House, entitled The Visitors Must Be Amused, will run from 5th August until 1st September.
To commemorate this event, a limited number of hand-screen printed T-shirts designed by Joy will be available for purchase at the store. The design of which, will be exclusively for this project.
