Just-For-Fun Friday: Boots In Tropical Countries

Filed In Blog by claudia | Comments: 6 | Views: 1629

I love boots. They're androgynous, chunky, sleek, and they look amazing with layers. While they've traditionally been perceived as winter garb, the occurence of boots being pushed as a fashion forward item has led to girls in tropical countries wearing them.

While I can say they look awesome in Hollywood style shots, a lot of people still can't wrap their heads around wearing a pair in a tropical region that never sees a day of winter. This Friday, let's debate on whether we can carry off wearing a pair of boots!

Generally, if we were to see a girl walking around in any sort of boot with a T-shirt and shorts, we'd regard it as either a try hard, or something falling in the lines of being skanky.

Why is that? Celebs don't always wear their boots with winter garb. Thermal wear like leggings, beanies and vests have all been adopted and normalized as daily wear here. Why not boots? It dumbfounds me, and yet, still I can't even purchase a pair of ankle boots. Just for fun, what say you? Do you own a pair of boots? How would you rock them in our region?

If you have weather like we do in Hollywood, as well as a scene that inspires fashion, why not? :)

My friends laughs the hell outta me when I wear my boots with denim shorts but really I think its ok to wear them :)

I love my ankle length brown boots with fridges but for me, I cannot stand boots which falls under like the 'high cut' category.
Those with super slim heels also scares me sometimes, unless if its the ankle length ones.

shoe boots are totally ok :)

I've got a pair of mid-calf boots and i've only worn them once in Malaysia. Which is a shame cos it's such a beauty.

It's pretty weird when people stare at you as if you're committing some sort of crime.

I've got 2 pairs - an ankle boots which I got from a thrift shop in Vienna for 2 EUROS! (yes, TWO EUROS), and have served me through sun, rain and SNOW! and a higher velvet material one. I think boots compliment a simple outfit well, and add some style to it. Boots in the tropics could work if styled appropriately.
