Chic Shop: Lah'Lah'Land Boutique (MY)
One of our favourite online vintage haunts turned into a tangible boutique two weeks ago. When we heard, boy oh boy, were we excited! So onwards I travelled all the way to Lah'Lah'Land (which is not as far as you'd think; it's in Subang) to get a glimpse of their impressive collection of pre-loved goods out of the computer screens and onto some racks.
Lah'Lah'Land started off as an online shopping blog about a year ago, and is owned by Sun and Edward. If their opening has you worried that business on their online store will cease, don't worry! The shop merely serves as a homebase and exhibit for their site that will continue to operate. And yes, they do still plan to host their famous Pick & Grab flea markets. In fact, they're planning one in September. ;)
The store also provides an outlet for co-founder Sun to style hair, something she has always been interested in doing. There are a few boutiques + salons in Johor, with very few in KL. The now defunct Show Pink + Bombshell was one, as well as Replacement Boutique x Salon; so it's nice to have another to add to the small list.
Lah'Lah'Land exclusively sells everything fashionably vintage, from clothes and bags, to scarves and shoes. While items can start at RM10, some extreme rare finds can go for about RM300, depending on the quality. When I spoke to Sun and Edward, though, they expressed interest to bringing in sourced items in the future.
When I asked Sun if she might perhaps design her own clothes in the future, she modestly shrugged and said she doesn't have that sort of talent - she sells her DIY headbands, hats and clothes, but she doesn't constitute her homemade goods as designs.
While Lah'Lah'Land started operating two weeks ago, you might want to consider it as a soft opening, because their grand launch is only happening on 15th August. You might want to attend that because they'll be having special promotions and discounts specially for that day.
