Chic Shop: Plush (KL)
Last Saturday, I headed over to Bangsar to check out the opening of Plush Boutique. As much of a cliche as it sounds, I love my Bangsar boutiques. Certain attributes give a boutique its reputation - being fashion forward, relatively affordable, owned by people passionate about what they're doing, and be the sort who'd tell you not to buy something because it doesn't suit you.

To my delight, I found that Plush was all of the above. Owned by couple Alex and Wendy, they respect each other's tastes and their gender segregated fashion domains.

Before Plush, Wendy worked in wholesale retail on Jalan Kenanga, with aspirations of opening her own upper end boutique. While her casual items are all sourced, she has also taken to designing her own dresses and evening wear.

Alex, on the other hand, is just your regular guy who custom-makes his shirts for a better fit. When friends kept asking him where he got his fabulous shirts from, he decided he'd take Plush as an opportunity to share his eye for great cuts.

I brought my 12-year-old brother along with me to attend the launch, and as soon as he saw Alex's designs, he headed straight to the fitting room. And my brother doesn't like to shop at all. I ended up buying it for him! Alex's shirts go for RM159 each, and only come in one piece per size.

Wendy's sourced casual wear sit at an affordable price range, retailing from RM59 to RM89.

Her own designs go from RM99 to RM159, and up to RM899 for evening gowns.

Plush also has a decent stock of accessories that range from RM19 to RM69.
