Just-For-Fun Friday: Young Hollywood Glamour
When I was 16, I wore T-shirts, jeans and for special occasions like a bowling outing, a pair of overalls. These days, it's incredibly interesting (and borderline disturbing) to see the fresh crop of Disney stars both in and out of the limelight.

Take my favourite teen queen for the moment, Miley Cyrus, for example. She's rocking oversized cardigans, ripped leggings and cropped jeans without a stylist. She stays age appropriate, but creatively explores her premature fashion sense.

Put her on a red carpet, and you start to think maybe she shouldn't be pushing her boobs up that high, or cropping her skirt that short. The girl is 16 for chrissakes!

While Miley Cyrus' style is more of a hill billy bubblegum rock, Demi Levato's is a dorky whimsical goth.

On the red carpet, though, she sticks to a more basic colour palate, blending classic Hollywood glamour with a sleek modern and fresh edge. Is that an Herve Leger dress I spy? Stunning!

Selena Gomez opts for basics, though she carries them off with such a quirky air, that you know for sure she's future fashion icon material.

But Gomez does go all out with red carpet fashion, favouring classic pieces with a geometric twist. Would you believe she's only 16-years-old?

Then there's Taylor Swift, who dresses like the part of a quintessential country singer, with boots and fringe for day...

And sparkle and shimmer at night.

And of course, there's Emma Watson, who never looks out of place as the poster child for young Brit rock street style.

She takes risks, but keeps her face dewy fresh to make sure it stays age appropriate. Actually no, scratch that. What 19-year-old girl do you know that dresses like this, especially in the dress second from left? :)

Now, compared to the previous crop of Young Hollywood, these girls seem to have a complete awareness of their bodies, and their personal taste. Look at Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff here, back when they were 18.

Just for fun this Friday, I want to know how you dressed in your teens, and how it feels to look at these 16-year-olds today to take fashion tips from. Comment away!
