Charles & Keith? Yes, please…
By: evevon
Blame it all on my misfortune, but this discovery would not have come about if I didn’t miss my flight. But in case you were thinking that I’ve unearthed a great gem of a store or discovered the perfect ruffled dress, then I’m sorry to disappoint as this discovery was on a personal note.
Many are probably already aware of the shoe brand Charles & Keith. I had heard about it vaguely and possibly checked out their site once or twice. However, besides being unofficially tagged the Vincci of Singapore by some, I wasn’t really sure what the fuss was all about. I mean, we have Vincci for the affordable footwear right? Venturing into their airport outlet, I realised that perhaps I was a little too hasty in writing them off. No surprises that I ended up leaving the store with a pair of yellow sandals with front crisscrossed straps and metal buckles.

incorporating a few of these trendy pieces tends to veer towards the more chic, downtown look. Well, downtown it seems if you look at their Spring/ Summe08 catalogue. In fact, I have been called a marketer’s dream - easily distracted by the pretty packaging and even more easily influenced by nifty ads - and thinking about substance only much later (but that’s a whole different post for a different blog altogether), but chic they certainly are.

There are also bags and other accessories, which I’m sure must be quite lovely but being a shoe person, I only have eyes for the footwear.

To be honest, I only put this up because of the dress. That’s as close as it gets to the perfect ruffled dress!

You can of course buy them online if there isn’t a Charles & Keith near you, although that’s quite unlikely if you’re within the Asia Pacific region. They are almost everywhere. But if you’re in KL? Tough luck! Venture into Thailand, Singapore or even Sabah and Sarawak for your shoe fix. Lately, I’ve been hearing more and more that Charles & Keith are finally setting up store in the Klang Valley or rather quite a few branches in various malls will be popping up very soon. In fact, a blog reader jut informed me that one of their new lots will be next to Forever 21 in Pavillion! Thanks plain.jane of Fashionista’s Playground. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted if we hear anymore news.
