M-IFW09: BDA Jewel of the East & Men's World

Filed In Blog by melly ling | Comments: 1 | Views: 515

BDA fashion designers showcased their skills and craftmanship in the "Jewel of the East" on the last day. This is the second time BDA has been honoured their opportunity to participate in the MIFW, based on the tremendous success of its previous involvement in 2008. The showcase featured both men and women collection.

Bumiputra Designers Association (BDA) is a non-profit organization with mission to assist its members who are from many different genres; fashion design, textile design, make-up artistry and etc, to increase their creative potentials by providing platforms to showcase and giving opportunities for training and guidance.

The show kicked off with Men's World and Bon Zainal was up first.

Models looked casual yet sexy at the same time in his collection.

Moving on, the models were dressed in a smart suit which was a perfect fit. His designs seemed like a page out from the 1940s era.

Rahman Saif

Some of the elements which he used for his designs are patterns - tartans and a little bit of swirls.

Anizam Yusof

Anizam's pieces are edgy with a modern twist to it. As seen on Male Model of the Year, Ikhwan on the right, sharp pointy jackets which are very reminiscent of Lady Gaga exemplified the entire collection.

He plays with three different colours for his collection which are black , grey and red.

Andy Suleiman

His show was very unique because he didn't use any music for his  show. The models were wearing his sandals with small little bells on it that made cute jingling sound which caught the crowd attention. Brilliant!

Look at those little cute bells dangled on the strap of  sandals.

Bella

Bella's collection were colorful and vibrant, almost like rainbows come alive.

Jasmi Rejab

On the other hand, Jasmi's pieces look very futuristic. I love the pants especially, in particular the layering at the side of the pants.

Nurita Harith

Her collection is a mixture of edgy and sweet.

Aidawati Sadin

Designer herself with model Tinie.

Von Jolly

The show ended with Von Jolly's collection which  is flambuoyant and elegant.

Are there any pieces which catches your eye? For more pictures, visit our gallery.
