Chictopian Karl Leuterio has caught my attention over the past year with his personal passion for fashion. Karl finds style inspiration from the fashion blogosphere, and is certainly giving back some inspiration of his own with his innovative and exceptional style. I like how he makes high fashion trends more achievable by assimilating bargain finds and DIY pieces into his ensembles. 1. How would you describe your personal style?
Mish mash, nonchalant, grunge rockstar.
2. What influenced your style?
I must admit I'm a late bloomer in this whole fashion thing, but Chictopia.com was my turning point. I've been watching "FashionTV" since I was 10 years old, reading fashion mags for as long as I can remember, but it's just last year that I really discovered the personal style that I really love.
3. Who are your fashion icons?
Honestly, I am more enthralled with bloggers nowadays since they're the ones who rule the real runway. That put aside, I like Bryanboy, Charles Guislain and Kate Lanphear.
4. Who are your favorite designers?
Damir Doma, Anne Demeulmeester, Margiela, Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh, Cristopher Decarnin, and Alexander McQueen.
5. Where do you usually shop?
Anywhere! More often than not, I stay away from generic.
6. What is your fashion/shopping philosophy?
Be different! As for my shopping philosophy, if it's the last piece and it fits, then its meant for you.
7. What do you usually shop for?
Make-up and tops. I also enjoy buying those cheap and weird accessories like pins, chains, studs, lace, etc.
8. What are your favorite fashion blogs/websites?
Of course, Chictopia.com and Lookbook.nu. I also love reading Childhoodflames, Jujiin.com, Bryanboy, Jakandjil, Nymag.com, Rcxy.com, and the list goes on!
9. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A stylist/indie singer/illustrator. I'm clueless... I mustn't die yet! Haha
