Last Wednesday, we attended Italian designer Nila Palacios' intimate fashion show at the atmospheric Aliyaa Island Restaurant in Bangsar. The event showed Palacios' latest Salsa Collection, featuring colourful and sexy cocktail dresses and evening wear inspired by the dance form made popular in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Columbia.

The real crowd pleasers of the night? Daring flared pants, lined with black mesh on either side; and a Zoolander spoof featuring a guest appearance by male model Khalil Khalif at the end of the show.
Nila Palacios will next be working on a collection catered to the figure-hugging demands of Argentinian tango.
