Around the World
The last of the major fashion weeks is nearly over. Bondage, feathers, ruffles, sequins, wide shoulders tonnes of draping and volume and even more hardware - check out the neckpieces at Christian Lacroix and Dries Van Noten; pretty much sums up Paris Fashion Week. In other words, an even wider spectrum of covetable items to put on our wishlist next year. And wishlist it might remain, for many of these items may not make it to the retailers...
Givenchy (LOVE the huge bow headband on the models)/ Akris
Sonia Rykiel/ Balenciaga
Christian Lacroix/ Dries Van Noten
Stella McCartney/ Karl Lagerfeld
Comme Des Garcons/ Hussein Chalayan
Maison Martin Margiela/ Sophia Kokosalaki
Viktor & Rolf/ Ann Demeulemeester
And Happy Birthday Sonia Rykiel who this year celebrates her 40th year in fashion. A surprise "gift" from daughter to mother was the climax of the Sonia Rykiel SS09 show when other designers presented their versions of the label's looks at the end of the night. Olivier Theyskens of Nina Ricci, Rodarte, Alber Elbaz of Lanvin, Michael Kors, Yohji Yamamoto and many other had a hand in this surprise. But my favourites had to be the "fringe coat" from Martin Margiela inspired by Sonia's red hair and the work-in-progress knitted dress from JPG.

Finally, the first full look of the CDG x H&M collection which is out next month (!!!) can now be viewed here. Start saving because these pieces will cost a pretty penny. And be prepared for the queue!
