Beef For Glads Below

Two months ago, Ai Mei wrote about supermodel Du Juan and it seems her pretty little face is splashed across a photo feature in the August issue of Allure. Read more *here*
Fergie just launched her line of footwear consisting of flat glads, high-rise platforms and a sneaker here and there. Fergalicious feet? Read more *here*
Speaking of footwear, I have to vent my distaste for gladiator sandals. Not all gladiator sandals, just the typical flat thin-strapped ones you see all over the place now. The first factor that put me off was the amount of time one would spend buckling strap upon strap on for those high ones. However, reconsideration on how much (time and money) is spent on other fashion-related activities ceased me to speak.

You know what I’m talking about.
Then was the fact how almost every girl wants a pair. A trend can truly be deemed a phenomenal one when its available in almost every brand, and is attempted to be worn by women whose body it doesn’t even suit. Putting my sneers for typical flat glads aside, I admittedly like how it looks on a girl who manages to pull it off beautifully. What most don’t understand is just because the tall skinny lass you saw in the mall looks superb in them, doesn’t mean you do too.
They (the flat glads, not the tall girl) ultimately make you look shorter and if you’re not blessed with long legs, it will only cause you to appear stumpy. Stumpy, that’s right, I’m saying it again. And why, heaven forbid, after all the pain and balancing one goes through in high heels to elongate appearances, would one submit themselves to that?
Another complaint I have (this will end soon, I promise) is the submission into buying cheap glads that look… well, cheap. They fit badly and their material looks tacky.
The sort of flat glads I wouldn’t complain about are the ones that have a twist to them, be it in design or colour. Like these ones:

Now aren’t those nice? Oh wait, I lied, I have one more complaint to make. Besides glads that don’t flatter body types, mass-produced glads that look tacky, and glads that are exact mimics of one another; now they’ve started…
