MPOV: Black & White With Idan
Photographer Idan has had been wanting to do a shoot with me for some time, but my tight schedule has caused it to be postphoned time and again. He finally got a hold of me with much determination. "No more games," he said. Ten looks, outdoors, and it's going to be oh-so-fabulous.
"You ada banyak baju hitam tak (Do you have a lot of black clothes)?" he asked. I assured him that by previously being a lecturer at Limkokwing University, I wore black every day for more than 2 years, resulting in an extensive black wardrobe.
With shoot date and location set for the next day, I went out with some close friends that night. As I'm having dinner with them at one of our favourite hangouts (Quan Ice Cream and Coffee House at Pandan Indah), Idan called to ask whether I have 4-inch closed-toe killer heels in black. Urm... no, I replied. He's not too happy and I immediately call Aimee King who saves the day!
When I got back home, I packed everything black I have for the shoot - from tights to ribbons to pants. You name it, I packed it!
All set and ready the next morning, I picked Idan and Bibo up. Bibo, who is a self-taught photographer and my former student (I use to be his Creative Studies lecturer at Limkokwing U), was to be Idan's assistant for the day.

My first shoot with Bibo where Idan did my hair and make up.
I've done a shoot with Bibo before, whereby Idan was the assistant and did the make up. This time, all aspects went into the creative hands of Idan as he was to do the make up and styling, as well as shoot me. Wow!

Foundation melting as it is being applied.

Nearly done.

Papparazzi Shot!

"Please Sir, this helmet hurts!"

It's no joke standing in the sun wearing black and a huge amount of make up with a helmet on.

The outcome of the shoot.
Idan was amazing to work with. He knew what he wanted and didn't snap away at everything. Don't let his childlike looks fool you, his multi-talents (Hair, Make-up, Styling, Shooting) and vision is a class act.

Black and white definitely captured the feel of this shoot.
It was a fairly easy shoot as I take directions without fuss. We were just getting into the swing of things when clouds started creeping in, dampening our plans to shoot ten looks. We had to end at three looks despite having lugged around two giangantic bags full of clothes.

I was happy with the shoot but I know my perfectionist friend Idan wasn't. It's okay love, perhaps it's nature's way of saying less is more? (Okay fine, I'm trying to be optimistic!)
My favourite shot...

I wish Idan all the best in chasing his fabulous fashion dreams :)
