Girl Talk: Plus Size Blogs
Is the fashion industry is slowly embracing plus-size women? Recently, we've known about labels that have broken stereotype and casted women who are more curvaceous than the average model. In fact, we've seen the same notion in magazine spread and front covers - although some may argue that these women are not reality-wise, voluptuous either! Whether they idea was to simply promote a healthier body image or for women to love their body types - is still debatable, but we've realised there are some changes happening out there and here are testaments to that claim.

TiC Pick: Setareh Mohtarez
I was a tiny tot, around the age of 5 when I discovered how mesmerising the skyline is when night falls and stars come out to play. It was no wonder that my favourite nursery rhyme happened to be 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. When my dad got me my first Guiness Book of World Records in 1997, I would gaze for hours at the pictures taken of the Milky Way and its other neighbouring galaxies. So one could only imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon Setareh Mohtarez's Brightness Dawn Collection on Luxirare. A cosmic wonder indeed!
Top 10 Most Stylish Female British Acts
Break out the Union Jack flags and fire up the teapot for the British are coming! If you haven't noticed, there's been a slew of British talent heating up our airwaves, making us sing-along to great tunes whilst also getting closet inspiration from their undeniable style. Across the pond young songstresses seem to prescribe to the obnoxious 'hot mess' rule of thumb (sorry Miley and Ke$ha) while the influence of high street in the motherland has wielded better dressed, and though not necessarily related, more talented songbirds. Without further ado, let's count down the top 10 most stylish Brit acts in (fashion) action.

Guys' Point of View
In our 2nd installment of Guys' Point of View, I scouted five jocks, brooders and hetero charmers alike to get the inside scoop on just exactly what they think while we're dressing to please. Here's what they had to say!

Just-For-Fun Friday: Runway Spills
Last week's fashion shows were pretty major - it hosted our first two model mishaps for the season! Agyness Deyn fell twice during Naomi Campbell's Haiti Relief Show, then Mathilde Frachon took a nasty spill herself at theMarc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 showcase just four days later.. I feel horrible about saying this, but seeing those two sent me on this Googlespree for runway tumbles, and I thought I'd share them with you just for fun today.
Just-For-Fun Friday: Valentine's Outfits
*Sorry for skipping JFFF yesterday, but we thought writing about celebrating the festive days ahead was just a little inappropriate during our tribute to Alexander McQueen. Yet no one wants to spend their holidays surrounded by gloom and sad news. So to the fashionable peeps, let raise our glasses and celebrate the life of Alexander McQueen! To the young, old, single, monogamous or polygamous – Happy Valentine’s Day and to our Chinese friends – Happy New Year! Sueann*
The night I turned 16, I had the bawling of my life because I had realised I had come to Disney Princess age, and my charming prince on a white stead was nowhere in sight. As the years have gone by, my perspectives have changed a little, but every now and then I do still wish I could find love taken straight off a film reel. So this Valentine's Day, I thought it'd be fun to give you tips on what to wear to factor into getting that movie moment.

Alexander McQueen Tribute: Top 10 Fashion Moments
We've compiled a top 10 Fashion Moments as a tribute to the King of the dark side himself - Alexander McQueen.
Where & Wear: Tokyo Street Snaps and Fashion Subcultures
Tokyo, Japan is definitely one of those cities high on top the checklist of places a fashion enthusiast should visit. With it varied style cultures and multifaceted fashion tribes; it’s a place where one gets fashionably inspired and loses all inhabitation when dressing. If I thought, my friends and I were daring at Barsonic on weekends, our outrageousness were nowhere near what the kids of Harajuku (which is one of my most favourite place on the planet right now) and Shibuya wore during weekdays! Gwen Stefani sure knew what she was talking about….

Playing Stylist: Garden Fête
Last week, UP ACTS (University of the Philippines Association of Clothing Technology Students), my organization in school, had an exhibit at Palma Hall. Click to see the photos from our exhibit.

Denim Déjà Vu (PH)
How can we ever get tired of a good ‘ol Levi’s jeans when they just keep getting better and better season after season? And that streak goes as far back as 1873.

Trend Talk Tuesdays: Lolita
Okay right up front, I'm going to admit that this isn't really what you'd call an inspirational trend which suddenly came up in the form of a blinking lightbulb while I spent hours surfing fashion blogs and websites. To be frank, I was surfing Style.com one day when I came across a trend featured on their trend blog - the Lolita trend - something, which even I have to admit, has influenced my dressing and sense of style a lot too.

TiC Pick: Miss Selfridge Spring 2010
Every girl loves playing dress up and no matter how old you are, you're always putting on something that makes you feel differently about yourself. Be it to inject confidence, some sex appeal or to add a bit of drama to your persona, clothes play a huge role in transporting you into that state-of-mind.

Playing Stylist: Prints
My best friend, Jojo and I are huge fans of prints and patterns. We have prints from head to toe; dress, top, blazer, skirt, boxers, bathrobe and leggings! So, this week for playing stylist, we've decided to do prints and came up with five different looks for five different occasions.

Adidas by Stella McCartney SS 2010 Collection
The award-winning Adidas by Stella McCartney collection debuted its Spring/Summer 2010 collection at Teeq, Lot 10 rooftop last Friday. Against a backdrop of the KL skyline, models donning pretty pastel parasols strolled through the rooftop garden in the latest Stella McCartney SS 2010 collection. It was definitely a one unique fashion show as the unexpected rain enhanced the show, as guests admired the sexy silhouettes, vibrant colours and feminine prints through the light 'spring' showers.

DIY: Panel Bodycon Skirt
A couple of weeks ago I pinky promised that I would come up with a DIY tutorial on paneled bodycon skirt, provided I was blessed with awesome sewing skills. Turns out you do not need the sewing capability of a seamstress, as long as you have patience and Father Time loves you. This tutorial is fairly simple; it involves a lot of cutting and patching panels of fabric back together.

Just-For-Fun Friday: Golden Globe Gowns
I was particularly excited about this year's awards season - the economy was picking itself back up and the idea of fashionable these days is to look as avant garde, but disheveled, as possible. I was hoping this would somehow affect the looks we'd see on the red carpet, because honestly Hollywood glamour has been a little on the down side for years. There are key fashionistas amongst a sea of bland. So when I got around to checking out the photos, boy, was I pleasantly pleased!

Playing Stylist: Harem Pants
Yes, although you've seen it last year on the runway and your nearby malls. Harem pants are making another round this season! Brand giants like H&M and Topshop are embracing the fun of the some would say "ugly" and hard to wear pants.

What is the New Black?
The saying "When in doubt, wear red" is probably invented by someone who doesn't observe his/her sorroundings. My eyes tell me that when in doubt, people wear black.

Uluwatu Collection 2010
If you're not familiar with Uluwatu, one word that follows with the brand is its beautiful handmade lace pieces. This time, they are back with a brand new collection and second franchise opening at Bangsar Shopping Centre.

DIY: Bodycon Skirt
Herve Leger of Max Azria gave birth to a new trend with his body conscious designs. Donned by women with curvaceous bodies to boot, these bodycon apparels are meant to flaunt the junk in the trunk. Since I've always liked how it looks, I decided to make a bodycon skirt myself out of an old velvet, maxi skirt. It’s fairly easy, with a basic sewing kit paired with a basic knowledge of maneuvering the sewing machine.
