Where to Shop: Bangkok – for the First Timers! (BK)
In the days leading up to my arrival at Bangkok, I seeked out shopping advice from colleagues and friends, and not to play the part of the company shoe shiner, but this very website too (see related articles)! The previous posts by Tin and Eliza were extremely helpful in giving an idea as well as personal insight into Bangkok. Hence, since a good deed must be returned, here is my take on the Bangkok shopping scene!

TiC Surf: Vintage Inspired Jewelry
I am recently fascinated by a specific style of jewelry I like to call “vintage inspired jewelry”. This style first caught my eye when the lovely Wendy Brandes of Wendy Brandes Jewelry left a comment on my personal site. It led me to style-stalk her beautiful and whimsical jewelry "strongly influenced by the stories of fascinating women, whether they lived in the 16th century or the Swinging '60s".

Taiwan’s 5-Cent Heaven
By: Yu Shan
The phrase “five-cent shop” itself brings to mind an image of a run-down grocery store selling items that only attract shoppers because of its affordable prices. Thankfully for us avid shoppers, Taiwan’s five cent shops (五分铺商圈)are not grocery stores but fabulous independent clothing stalls, with popularity due to their reasonable price and fashion-forwardness.
To arrive at 5-cent heaven, take the Taiwan MRT (called 捷运 by locals) to HouShanPi Station (后山埤站) and ask for directions from there. It’s only a few blocks from the MRT station. The surroundings may seem rundown after you emerge from the station, but do not be daunted for good fashion lies mere steps ahead!

Shoplette
By: Joyce
“Where did you buy that?” and “Check out what I bought!” are two common phrases any shopaholic will repeatedly say and hear throughout their weekly routine. With the aim of discovering new places to shop and sharing with others their glee over proudly-acquired purchases, rarely are people stingy with their knowledge on fashion-hunting these days. Admittedly, there are the few out there who shy from letting out where they shop regularly, in the fear that others might get ‘that something’ before they do. At the end of the day, selfishness and lack of buyers will only cause your beloved shop to go out of business! I say love and let love.
For these exact reasons, have Shoplette gone live on 2nd May 2008. The clean site is a web service for people to post pictures and details (brand, price, location) of their shopping purchases in order for them to exchange and share shopping information easily.
