Q&A: Justine from Vintage Socialites
Ever since fashion enthusiasts have demanded to put a stop to the wrong usage of the word "vintage", suddenly we got to see how very few 'real' vintage shops there are around. One of those remaining few is The Vintage Socialite. We caught up with Justine Teh who sources and runs the blog shop and what a nice surprise it was for us when we found out she organised a shoot just for us!

Fashion News from Around the World
2010 is all about comfy street wear as trackpants are deemed the new 'Trousers of the Season' and Jimmy Choo tackles sneakers! In other fashion news; Google makes their next move in world domination by releasing their very own fashion line, vintage haute couture finds an exhibition in Hong Kong and guess who placed tops at at the fashion buzzword list of the year?

MISCHA: Past Meets Present
There's nothing better than making your own personal statement through fashion and since owning one-of-a-kind pieces is one of the few ways to do so, this explains my obsession with handmade and vintage. Now when I come across something that combines handmade, vintage and bursts of bright colours, I fall totally and completely in love. Drool aside, let me introduce MISCHA - a range of bags and accessories made from vintage Japanese obi fabric designed and handmade here in Hong Kong.

Chic Pop: Street Market Part 2 - Vintage lovin' with Your Moms Fashion, De Oldies and The Old Blossom Box Store
The second installment of the Chic Pop: Street Market will be happening in less than a fortnight and to say that we are psyched, would be a serious understatement. To quell those flames of excitement, we're going to give you a taste of what you can expect to find on 15th November. Here are three vendors who dominate the vintage/vintage-inspired fashion scene amongst the local retail blogosphere - Your Moms Fashion, De Oldies and The Old Blossom Box Store. They'll be joining us on that day spreading their unique brand of vintage love to the masses!

Chic Shop: FuncDeko
If you're a retro/vintage lover like I am, you'll love FuncDeko! The little store has been in Far East Plaza since, like, forever! Winning over the young and old alike through the years, I thought it'd be remiss of me not to share it with you.

Q+A: edit'd
It is refreshing to find something just a little different in Hong Kong other than the commercially produced clothing that seems to be everywhere. Helene Ang, both founder and the creative force behind the label edit'd, offers one-of-a-kind repurposed and upcycled vintage and reclaimed clothing - each with its own story. Her debut collection, launched earlier this year, was well received in Hong Kong and following that success, she has just launched her own website. I invite Helene out for a coffee and chat to find out more about edit'd.

WindowShopBlog: The Vintage Socialites
The rage for vintage clothes are no where near dying down, hence us featuring The Vintage Socialites. Started by Justine Teh, she has a wide collection of vintage clothing from the mod 60s to the edgy 80s. The 30-something-year-old selects pieces that have better tailoring craftmanship, superior material and attention to detail.

WindowShopBlog: Le Kingdom
Welcome to Le Kingdom, a shopping blog for vintage lovers with pieces from the 60s, 70s and 80s to Victorian-inspired, Lolita, Mod, Hippie, Peasant, and Boho. Starting out less than a year ago, a startling difference with this particular blog shop are the occasional animal heads superimposed on the model's body.

TiC Pick: Vintage-Inspired Frock
As much as some might say vintage is a trend that's passe, it's going nowhere just yet. Finding authentic vintage is rewarding but tough, so at times we can be forgiven for going vintage-inspired (which please bear in mind is not authentic vintage!). This week's TiC Pick is a vintage-inspired frock, because nothing says innocence, purity, and feminine charm like a classic one :)

Chic Shop: Glampot
Situated in the busy hub of Taipan Subang next to a beauty salon, sits a little prel-oved designer shop called Glampot. A step into the store later, you’ll find yourself mesmerized with their precious treasures. I sat down with the fashionable brother-sister team, David and Gabriena, to talk about their business.
WindowShopBlog: Heather Designs
There's nothing that adds a touch of sass to an outfit easier than an ornate piece of statement jewellery. We share with you our finds fromSingaporean-based jeweller Heather Designs (HD), who provide us intricacy and attitude combined.

Q+A: Vintage Biri Biri
The vintage bug in Malaysia has definitely hit full blast since the beginning of last year with the mushrooming of more flea markets and online shopping blogs. Spreading heaps of good ol' vintage pieces that fill our closet grandma-style, there is one site in particular that keeps us shopping and people asking, "Where did you find that dress?"

Pick & Grab
Fashion and music-driven group Lah'Lah'Land proudly presents Pick & Grab - an outdoor flea market promising plenty of vintage clothing, hot accessories, handmade handicrafts and lots more for you to pick and choose from.

Pre-Luv Market <3
Previously-loved items are going on sale at the Pre-Luv Market in Johor Baru on 19th and 20th October. Everything from vintage clothing, accessories to art are on offer for one day only!!

Dustbunny Vintage
By: Stephie of Fashionation
It's pretty tough to find a vintage store in Singapore. Apart from the odd charity shop, true vintage stores are few and far between. So, when I caught wind of a store tucked away in the heart of Chinatown, I had to visit it in order to believe that it was there. In the midst of a row of shophouses, I located Dustbunny Vintage, the amazing treasure trove manned by Pia.

With the amount of flea markets and junkyard sales mushrooming around KL these days, it’s pretty evident that vintage clothing is catching up in the KL scene. Woohoo to that! I mean, what’s not to love about grandmama dresses and purple suede leggings ey? Definitely heaps better than mass-produced labels seeming to vomit out the same ol’ junk everytime. Or worse, spotting three girls donning the same red dress you have on at the same party. Ouch!
Bijou Bazaar
I’m loving how there seem to be a different junkyard sale or fashion party organised every weekend nowadays, whether it’s by Lap Sap, Threads Zoo, or the latest addition in town - Bijou Bazaar.
A two-day clothing and craft bazaar, Bijou Bazaar handled theirs differently by having it next to a pool with food and acoustic performances by the much-raved about KokoKaina (*whom Junk has interviewed before*), 18-year-old Aisya Husnaa from Subang, and Rashdan Harith.
They held it in Jeumpa D’ramo, a boutique hotel smack in the middle of Bangsar that none of us have ever noticed before! It’s right along Jalan Maarof on the corner of Jalan Bangkung, so parking wasn’t a problem.
