Accessories took the spotlight at the Prada Resort 2009 collection in New York a mere 2 days ago, with the clothes taking a step back which was a rather disappointing turn for Prada this time around, I mean windcheaters for night? It changed focus, to favour rich, sumptuous Indian jewels, heavily laden and encrusted with every colour of the rainbow in order. For the past few seasons, we have seen the rise of the accessory - the gladiator sandal at Balenciaga, the pastel hued star shaped necklace at YSL, the shoe bootie just about everywhere, and the alcohol monitoring anklet at Chanel.

As some of you may have already known, Yves Saint Laurent passed away at the age of 71 on Sunday. Widely hailed as one of the greatest designers of the 20th century, he had many fans among which was Catherine Deneuve, who was always to be seen at his shows (pictured above backstage with the designer).
