Every September, the style-hungry from all around the world will descend upon London for the London Fashion Week where designers will showcase their fabulous Spring/Summer Collections. This year, the 'A La Mode' Independent fashion showcase will take London by storm with their selection of international independent and (some) emerging designers.
Behind the Scenes: Clinique Star Tour 2010
Clinique is on a meteoric search for that one Star to appear in CLEO magazine. I no longer feel young (yes, their search has taken them high and low through mostly university and college scapes) at my age (turning 24, gulps!) but in the name of research, of course I will brave myself and go through the Star Treatment, from A to Z.
COTTON INK Webstore Launch (JK)
“A small brand with a huge dream”, that has always been the tagline for Jakarta-based Cotton Ink. What started from a small inspiration, would lead to the creation of a facebook group of the brand and then followed by a successful blogshop at cottonink.blogspot.com. They also have a twitter account with 3000+ followers, and now their reach has just gotten bigger - Cotton Ink has officially launched a webstore.
Where & Wear: Nuugo launch
Tongue in Chic was invited to the private launch of new fashion label Nuugo at Caffeinees Restaurant & Café last Wednesday. The label is co-founded by Koo Kien Keat, current international badminton doubles world champion, and June Chang. They unveiled their debut collection yesterday and staged a fashion show for their ready-to-wear pieces to an intimate gathering of friends and family, including Datuk Lee Chong Wei himself!
Where & Wear: Materiel Parkson Launch (KL) pt. 1
When one door closes, another will open! This rings true with the launch of Materiel in Parkson Department Store last week. The boutique that carries some of the biggest names in cult jeans, have decided an outlet in the busy isles of Parkson, Pavilion was more conducive for business. This new decision also allowed them to work alongside other cult brands. Before the launch however, Materiel organised LaBase Face to Phase Campaign, where 45 people - some personalities and some simply just lovers of fashion, were chosen to represent the label. The final layout of the poster was the centrepiece at the launch day and besides the unveiling of it and a bit of merry-making on the side, this is what took place.
’45 Pre-launch Party @ Palate Palatte (KL)
’45 is an online magazine established by a group of talented Indonesian students from LimKokWing University. Pronounced ‘four-five’, the online magazine is a minimalist’s passage to a lifestyle literature dreamland, packed with fashion, art, photography, design and much more. The pre-launch party was held at Palate Palatte, Kuala Lumpur last Friday, 28 May 2010.
KAO ASIENCE Hair Diagnosis Event
I was at the ASIENCE Hair Diagnosis Event at 1 Utama Shopping Complex (at the entrance of the old wing) yesterday to get my hair diagnosis done by hair professionals of KAO. At first I was bit reluctant to get my hair scrutinised in an open space - I mean, shouldn't matters like that be discussed in a more private settings? But after the painless process (it took less that 10 minutes), I got to know my hair better and didn't feel so bad after all. This is how the hair diagnosis works...

Chic Pop: Shower Fresh (KL)
With a twirl in the step and a shake of the hips, the ladies who attended Chic Pop: Shower Fresh were off trying their hand at dancing vertically on a pole. Of course, that wasn't the only attraction of the day, as Smashbox cosmetics provided fun in the form of makeup and Murni Rosli of Mimpi Murni forever altered the conventional use at the contents of the fridge during her DIY skincare session.
