Where to Shop: Bangkok – for the First Timers! (BK)
In the days leading up to my arrival at Bangkok, I seeked out shopping advice from colleagues and friends, and not to play the part of the company shoe shiner, but this very website too (see related articles)! The previous posts by Tin and Eliza were extremely helpful in giving an idea as well as personal insight into Bangkok. Hence, since a good deed must be returned, here is my take on the Bangkok shopping scene!

Where to Shop: Bandung (IN)
Whoever said that small towns don't have potential to be a great shopping destination? Boy were they wrong! Bandung, Indonesia certainly does not fit into that stereotype. Just a 2-hour 130km drive from Jakarta, this beautiful city is worth the trip especially for fashion and food lovers. Here's a brief shopping guide that will take you to all the charming shopping hotspots I'm very fond of as well.

Where to Shop: Budget Shopping in Japan
Shopping in Japan can be expensive especially when you don't know where to go. But fret not! I'm going to share with you my little hidden spots of outlet shops, vintage boutiques and low-cost shopping – places you can go without you having to give up your sense of style.

Chic Shop: Aksara (JK)
What started out as a bookstore, ended up as an all-in-one lifestyle company, with books, music, homeware and kitschy items all offered under one roof.

Where To Shop: Macau (CH)
Macau may not be a central shopping destination of Asia considering the fact that Hong Kong is just a 45 minute ferry ride away. Nevertheless, it's fast becoming a major tourist destination thanks to the allure of the casinos, 28 at last count! While the gambling tables might be fun, you know what's better and more rewarding? Where To Shop: Hong Kong (HK)

Just 3 days old with some ranges already sold out(!), H5 is a brand new store in Bangsar Village II that will be on the must-visit list for any coolhunter in KL. The minimalist store stocks some of the coolest cult brands for watches and sneakers; including Nooka, FeiYue, Noon Copenhagen, LIP from France, Alive Tokyo and Philippe Starck.

Where To Buy Batik in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
For some of you who may have heard the term for the first time, batik is a traditional technique used on textiles which include the process of wax-resist dyeing. Of course, the term can also be used for traditional-ethnic patterns on textiles and fabrics. In Indonesia, the most famous batik pieces come from Yogyakarta. Behind the swirly, almost-psychedelic patterns of earthy colours lay various ideologies and hidden meanings of Javanese culture and traditions.
